I'm going to...

...try something new.

If I do,
don't be afraid.

Every thing of newness has its rewards and punishments.
When I began,
I was nothing more than a dribble-filled saucer's worth
of half-formed articulations and each vowel sound was music
to my mother's ears and when the time came for over-abundance I let loose
and decided,

quite rightly,

I might add,

to say some thing

new.

Nice poetry.

i think there's something with us, Aquariuses ! ;)

We think too much in a good way.

Cheers

I don't know why trying something new can feel scary. Simple and sweet, this poem speaks to me.

Hadassah~~ Sometimes we can over-think things and lose perspective, or a sense of what we think is the right thing. What I was trying to do with this poem was go back to the infant I was, when just saying a word..any word!..was a moment of joy & smiles from others [my parents & Grandparents].

We all "try something new" at some point.

And, yes, you're right about "the water carriers"..They're twins of fellow feeling.

Thanks, for reading.

Nicely put, I like the way you went back to your childhood enjoyments, a simple time with so much joy.
